About This Project

Vukovar water tower, 50 meters high and 2200 square meters wide, was built at the end of 1968 at the entrance to the Vukovar neighborhood Mitnica. By volume and size, it was one of the largest facilities of its type in Europe. Before the war, there was a restaurant on top of the water tower with a view on Vukovar, the Danube and the surrounding vineyards of Srijem. During the Serbian aggression on Vukovar, the water tower was one of the most frequent enemy targets, the artillery inflicted more than 600 dents, and today it is a symbol of suffering and resistance of the city, victory and new life.
